MH-500 HMC Automation: Separating Pallet Exchange from Part Loading
The specification lists two tables: standard 500 × 500 mm at 500 kg, or optional 400 × 400 mm at 400 kg.
Technical application analysis. Fixture-mounted parts; no delivered workpiece established; MH-500 horizontal machining center; two-pallet APC with optional external part handling.
Reference configuration and timing
- The specification lists two tables: standard 500 × 500 mm at 500 kg, or optional 400 × 400 mm at 400 kg.
- The pallet-to-pallet exchange is 10 s. Tool-to-tool change belongs to a different mechanism.
Engineering evaluation
First decide whether the automation will transport complete pallets or bare workpieces. Pallet logistics requires matching interfaces and job queues; bare-part tending also requires grippers, reach and fixture-release signals.
Check the complete fixture and part envelope on both tables. Manufacturer examples such as housings do not establish that a particular housing project was delivered or that two fixtures share an identical datum.
Selection conditions and evidence limits
The source has conflicting BT50 prose and a BT40 specification table. Neither spindle interface is adopted here without the ordered configuration. This is a product-application analysis.
Application questions
Does an APC load blanks into the fixture?
Not by itself. It exchanges pallets; a person or a separately configured robot loads the fixture.
Are the two table-size and load combinations interchangeable?
No. Retain the pairing in the source and confirm the purchased configuration, including fixture mass and load distribution.
